Did radio interview on BBC WORLD SERVICE sunday night which went ok and another interview on BBC Radio Suffolk breakfast show this morning, this went well also.
Also today I was in Ipswich Star newspaper (but didn’t know I was going to be) http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/capel_st_mary_horticulturist_takes_part_in_study_of_male_breast_cancer_1_1526418
, also in The Independent newspaper .
This afternoon I also had my Check up at the Breast Clinic and saw a different Dr to normal , he checked me over , poking and proding me and says all’s ok and said come back in 12 months. But has also asked if I have ever had a mammogram , which I said I hadn’t as I thought men couldn’t have them . He thinks I should and is going to ask radiographer if possible, if so he will write to me with an appointment . Personally I don’t think I have enough breast to put in machine , but we will have to wait and see .
At least with all the recent media coverage the message about Male breast cancer is gradually getting out there .

Had a few calls over last week since the article in the Sun . One was from This Morning on ITV and despite then looking quite interested for me to appear they sadly pulled the plug on Friday . But as one door closes another opens and tonight I will be doing an interview on the BBC World service along with a Dr Nick Orr from the Institute of Cancer reasearch about new findings that have just been published about why men get breast Cancer. This Study was carried out in 2010 and I took part , hence my involvement in the interview. I have to be at BBC Radio Suffolk studio to do the ISTN phone link at 9.30pm tonight . Then tomorrow I am at the same studio again for Breakfast doing another interview for BBC Radio Suffolk. At leased it is helping to get the message out there , and I don’t mind doing my bit to spread the word about Male Breast Cancer.

We were lucky with the weather , dry , overcast and a bit windy , but at least no rain. This year I did the walk (10 miles) with my brother John and 158 other walkers. We finished in 31/2 hours . The time went quickly and we both finished in reasonable condition with only a few aches and pains. Spoke to John this evening and he is a bit stiff, but I have been gardening this afternoon and am quite mobile. Got to collect in Sponsor money now £223 , with a special thanks to Brenda & Tony Sparling for sending in £30 after seeing me in Standard. A well organised walk thats fun to do for a very good cause .

Had a lovely Christmas day with Amanda & the Children, super lunch and a lovely walk in the afternoon to make room for more food in the evening . Boxing day was quiet , until we visited my brother John and his family for a bit of tea , a chat and a few laughs. Yesterday was dragged to the sales as children had some vouchers to spend , which we did. Today back to work for one day then off until the 3rd Jan . Certainly more my old self nowadays , not so many aches or pains to worry about despite finishing digging on the allotment way before December had begun. I tend to just get on with life an try to forget I was just getting over my treatment a year ago . Long may I continue to feel well .

Had a wear it pink day at work today , to help raise funds for Breast Cancer. Should be wear it pink with a hint of blue for us males. Went on BBC radio suffolk with Mark Murphy and we had a discushion about how charities should change stance to Pink and Blue and highlight Male breast cancer more. Discussion went well and hopefully raised some more awareness which is all I can continue to try and do.
