Fun Weekend (A little normality again)

Friday 24th September

Went to work today as normal, then after Amanda came home from work and the Children from School we packed up the car and set off to a Travel Lodge at Sunbury in Surrey. With a stop it took just over 3 hours. The Travel lodge was basic and the bed was very springy, just like trying to sleep on a trampoline. We got a few hours sleep through the night but found it difficult to settle as there was a lot of traffic noise from the nearby M3. Wouldn’t recommend this Travelodge again to anyone who’s a light sleeper but for £59 including breakfast what can you expect.

Saturday 25th September

After a good breakfast at the Travel lodge we all set off to Thorpe Park in Surrey for Louie’s birthday treat (Birthday on Monday 27th). We got into the park when it opened at 10am and left at just after 5pm when it closed and had a really fun day and one that Louie, Charlie, Amanda and I really enjoyed. Louie has now reached the 1.4m height limit so can

now go on all the big rides, which was a 1st for him. He said his favourite ride was Nemesis, which I must admit is great. Some of the fun rides with shorter waiting times we had  two goes on like the Log flume. This ride and the Tidal wave were great fun as water rides, luckily we had our waterproofs so we didn’t get as wet as some people. We left the park and got home just after 7pm as the road traffic was very good , once unpacked we  had a light tea and an early night to bed.  It was a long and

often tiring time at the park, but one we all enjoyed and we all agreed it was great to have a little normality in our lives again before I start more treatment next week.

Sunday 26th September

Had a good lie in after our busy time yesterday, went shopping in the morning at Tesco then helped children with homework and then generally chilled out and had a rest for the rest of day. Louie is still talking about the fun he had yesterday. I’m popping over to see dad tonight.
